Following their thumping big wave session at an open ocean reef Greg Long and his wingman, Twiggy Baker, were guests at a number of smaller and equally hollow reefs. Over the course of a week they, along with Josiah Schmucker, caught some of the biggest waves paddled into in Oz and got a ridiculous amount of ledging barrels. Even managed time to wet the line.

More than ten years seperates the big wave duo and they live more than 10,000 kilometres apart, Long in San Clemente, California, Twiggy in Durban, South Africa. Yet despite the distances in age and geography they've formed a formidable team, first as tow partners and now as sparring partners operating at the vangard of big wave paddle surfing.

Yesterday a surfer was attacked by a shark while surfing Back Beach at Streaky Bay on South Australia's West Coast. Although there's been a spate of fatal attacks in Western Australia it's South Australia that is more known for them.
