Rightio, so it's a few weeks ago now, but here's Laura Enever's take on the big swell at Cloudbreak. It's worth running here, not just to see the majesty of big, blue Cloudy one more time, but also because it's the first instalment of Laura's vlog - like and subscribe etc.
A third reason is to check Matty Dunbar's videography, especially his drone shots looming over the lineup. A new view on a familiar lineup is always welcome.

Definitely charging. Willing to have a crack for sure. However the second half of the clip was not of March 7 cloudbreak. Not to upset the apple cart but kinda adds an extra level of danger when people surf waves out of their realm.
Like a lot before her, both male & female. A big wave act is not contrived, it's earned. A long way to go for this wanna be, it'd help if she at least completed the majority of the ride. Apologies to the fan club, however performing for the cameras with the back up crew in tow to make some psuedo claim doesn't wash.
Kudos tho, reinventing a failed CT career to stay in the limelight seems to have somehow given her relevance. For me? crash test dummy's are only just that, she needs to prove me wrong. We'll see.
If a male surfer was out there with that skill set on March 7 they’d be asked to leave the water as they’re endangering themselves and others. Harsh but reality.

Sat out at 10-12ft g land a few years ago, didn’t catch a wave. It was fucken heavy and Gareth McNamara got knocked out the same day at speedies.
I am happy to admit that I tap out at 6 to 8ft these days. Just wonder why there are always haters on here trying to drag people down a peg.

There is a fair bit of BS in these comments about Laura and other women only doing this for fame - FFS we suffer videos from every wannabe bloke (and include the big names - especially if it’s Koa) and if a woman does it it’s, what different? Full kudos from me . Having surfed the joint at 8 to 10 and been rattled hard by it , that was impressive .
It fails to amaze me how deep misogyny must be embedded in some blokes DNA . I couldn't give a rats arse if I was outsurfed by a female surfer. Matter of fact I have a female friend who is an ex female world champ who regularly out-surfs most guys in the heavy stuff . Pretty funny to watch.

After reading Mal Caithness1 comments I wondered how it was going to be received.
I have always found and enjoyed a certain honesty to Laura's footage including the vid which shows Laura improving / progressing in her surfing journey warts and all.
I understand the cynicism but objectively think clearly misplaced and Laura definitely the wrong target really looking forward to Laura's next installment.

Laura is a great ambassador for surfing. For someone who’s never done a solid days work, she also comes across in the media as a half decent person. Like her in the com box. She can push aside turpel and flick the kook-aid sippers any day. Yes she also charges. However I stick by my comment that a skill set of that level is extra reckless out there. I wonder why any negative at all? She states early in vid those look like Laura waves as in smaller ones then shows her making them at the end. Shows her having a dig earlier on big big waves and not making them but not pulling back and not just going over the falls. Maybe not even same day. No footage of those males that haven’t done a decent days work in their lives either doing the same things.

Laura was in our local Northern Beaches girls board riding club that my 2 daughters were involved in back in the mid 2000s. She always had time for the younger ones. She charges and makes waves locally that 99% of dudes won't go near. Also, how are you supposed to get comfortable in waves like that if you don't have a crack. She's a farken hell women if you ask me!
