Yep, South African. Had bit parts amongst the Globe crew where he featured in Strange Rumblings and stood awkward to the side as Noa Deane uttered "Fuck the WSL". Similarly, with Vissla where he came across as the short-haired square amongst the roster of hip freesurfers. The post-pro Oz crew of Creed, Dion, and Chippa seemed to accept BG as a Trans-Indian mascot, same goes the Former crew of Dane and Ando. Yet from this vantage, he never seemed part of anything.
That aspect, as much as his surfing, impresses me.
