NE trade swell for SE Qld ...

Now, dealing specifically with the short term, and Thursday is likely to be the best of a bad lot with a peak in generally ENE peaky tradewind swell probably topping out in the 2ft range and light onshores which will tend NE and freshen.

Small NE windswell for NSW ...

A northerly ridge is predicted to strengthen down the NSW coast during tomorrow as a broad inland surface trough moves slowly eastward and interacts with an area of high pressure in the Tasman Sea. This should create a peaky NE windswell for late tomorrow and Friday.

A renewal in swell is expected along the Victorian coastline on Thursday, related to the passage of a frontal system under the state overnight. Winds should start out moderate in strength from the N/NE with the possibility of a weak E/SE sea breeze during the afternoon.
