5 Day Swell Graph

Best Days

Sun: good waves at south swell magnets. Late Mon/Tues/Wed: great waves at south friendly beaches as a south swell builds along the coast.

Thursday 23rd May

Inconsistent 2ft waves at open beaches early, building to 3-4ft as a new short range swell fills in (upper end of this size range most likely to be found south of Sydney). Strengthening SE winds all day, may be light and variable for a period in Sydney and the Hunter (less likely in the south).

Friday 24th May

Low quality short range SE swell building to 4-5ft in the Hunter, reaching 3-4ft in Sydney and 2-3ft on the South Coast. Size easing during the day. Fresh and gusty SE winds tending S'ly and moderating. Lighter winds in the Far South.

Saturday 25th May

Easing, low quality short range SE swell to 3-4ft in the Hunter, 2-3ft in Sydney and 1-2ft on the South Coast. Moderate S'ly winds in general, may be lighter SW early morning at selected locations (ie Northern Beaches). Light variable winds expected in the Far South. Don't get your hopes up.

Sunday 26th May

Building S'ly groundswell to a a'noon peak around 3ft at south facing beaches, but much smaller at remaining open beaches due to the swell direction (1-2ft). Expect very long breaks between sets. Clean with light to moderate W/SW winds.

Monday 27th May

Temporary easing S'ly swell to 2-3ft at exposed south facing beaches, ahead of a late increase to 3-4ft. Much smaller waves elsewhere due to the swell direction (1-2ft). Expect very long breaks between sets. Light to moderate W/SW winds.

Weekend Outlook

Easing leftovers Saturday with generally average winds. Better Sunday with offshore winds and a building south swell, but really only favouring the swell magnets.
