Wednesday 22nd May
Easing SE swell around 2-3ft at open beaches, with smaller surf at remaining locations. Light and variable winds, probably W'ly tending N/NW later.
Thursday 23rd May
Difficult forecast due to a developing ECL off the coast. Most likely scenario is for small leftover SE swell around 2ft at open beaches with freshening W'ly winds. Winds may potentially swing onshore in the lower Mid North.
Friday 24th May
Difficult forecast due to an ECL off the coast. Most likely scenario is for small 1-2ft leftovers in the Far North with moderate to fresh W'ly winds. In the lower Mid North, we may see a building SE swell to 3-5ft with freshening SW winds tending S'ly later. Unsure where the axis point for this will be though (ie the boundary between leftover/new swell) and how it will advance along the coast.
Saturday 25th May
Difficult forecast as model data is quite divergent at this point in time. Most likely scenario is a building, windy S/SE swell to 5-6ft+ at exposed south facing beaches. Smaller waves at most open beaches around 3-4ft. Gusty S'ly winds, possibly SW early morning at selected locations.
Sunday 26th May
Difficult forecast as model data is quite divergent at this point in time. Most likely scenario is a punchy short range S/SE swell 5-6ft+ at exposed south facing beaches. Smaller waves at most open beaches around 3-4ft. Gusty S'ly winds, possibly SW early morning at selected locations.
Weekend Outlook
Punchy building S/SE swell at some point over the weekend (low confident on the size, and timing). It'll be quite windy too.
