In a move sure to add extra punch to an organisation known for going straight between the eyes, Global Surf Industries (GSI) and Sea Shepherd Conversation Society (SSCS) have joined forces in the lead up to ‘Operation No Compromise,' this year's Antarctic Whale Defense Campaign. The alliance sees GSI producing a co-branded limited edition model of the hugely popular 7S Super Fish surfboard.

20% of the revenue of the sales of the limited edition board will go directly to Sea Shepherd. The 7S Super Fish has proven a worldwide phenomenon in the surfing world and it is hoped its popularity will provide more sting in a bid to raise enough funds and long term awareness to help keep Sea Shepherd vessels, the Steve Irwin and Bob Barker, in the southern ocean for the entire whaling season.

The Sea Shepherd Mission Statement is simple; ‘to end the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world's oceans in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species.' And with the GSI mantra ‘life is better when you surf' ringing louder than ever, director Mark Kelly is looking to provide assistance wherever possible.

"Our goals with this project are to firstly continue to raise the awareness of Sea Shepherd and its mission to defend ocean wildlife worldwide within the global surfing community particularly," said Kelly.

The reasoning behind the collaboration of ocean conservationist and surfboard manufacturer are obvious and Sea Shepherd's Captain Paul Watson can confirm that he and the entire organisation is extremely excited to be working with GSI.

"Surfers have long been huge supporters of Sea Shepherd and the connection they have with the ocean is very real," said Watson.

"If any group of people gets what we are trying to achieve it is them."

Produced by Global Surf Industries in association with the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, the 7S limited edition Sea Shepherd model is available in both Super Fish and Super Fish XL sizes online or selected surf stores nationwide from RRP $735.00. 20% of every sale goes to the SSCS to help protect the world's oceans.
