North Wollongong Christian Surfers presents our 12th annual Paddle Against Poverty on Saturday, April 14. If you want a unique challenge in surfing and would like to do something for impoverished children, this is a great chance to make a world of difference!

Originally committing to the sponsorship of 5 children through Compassion Australia for the 10-year duration of their education, we have now taken on 5 more children for the next 10 years. In addition, last year we raised over $7,000 towards the relief effort in Japan after their devastating earthquake and tsunami. This year any additional monies will go to community development work in surf communities in Indonesia through Elevate Bali.

The event is open to all kinds of craft including paddle boards, SUP's, surf-ski/kayaks and more (though we would not recommend actual surfboards!) We welcome all ages (we've had paddlers aged 13-57 in the past) and all skill levels.

The paddle normally takes between 3-4 hours and there is full water support including jet-skis, IRB's and the Coast Guard.

Entry is free, though we ask you try to raise at least $100 in sponsorship.
