Day 2 was the first day of competition at the the Rip Curl Pro and both the mens and womens got through their Round 1 heats. The surf was good but not great. A mid-morning onshore flow saw a few skittering bottom turns and it was an 'in between' size - waves broke on either Rincon or The Bowl depending upon the tide.

Swellnet photographer, Steve Arklay, traipsed the comp site from dawn to dusk aiming his camera at anything that caught his eye, in the water or on land.
