It's somewhat of an eye catcher. The heading, I'm talking about - 'Trials for the Trials'. Doesn't the Quiksilver Pro run its own Trials anyway, I hear you ask?

Well, yes - but there's such intense demand for the two single 'wildcard' places within the sixteen trialists, that Quiksilver and Surfing Queensland thought it'd be only fair to offer them via a seperate competition. Another 'Trials' for a position in the, erm, 'Trials'.

In the end, Noah Lane took out the event in shifty three foot waves at D'Bah, with Chris 'Ibis' Bennetts coming in second - edging out Asher Pacey and Joe Schwartz. Noah and Chris will join World Qualifying Series seeds, top Queensland Championship Circuit competitors, Snapper Rocks Surfriders and hand-picked Quiksilver wildcards for the Quiksilver Pro Trials proper at Snapper Rocks in February, 2011.
