Yesterday Taj Burrow won the inaugural Breaka Burleigh Pro at three foot Burleigh Heads.

The surf pumped for the entire competition, and while it was never 'perfect', the numerous down-the-line sections and crumbling lips provided excellent launching pads for airs, of which there was a wide array. Testament to that is how many are in this photo spread.

This year will be one of the most important in ASP history, with a new judging criteria and new points system. The Breaka Burleigh Pro was a portent to what should be an incredible year of competitive surfing. //STUART NETTLE
