For surfers Perth can be a hot, flat and wretched place in summer. The months drag and the Doctor blows, all the while the surf trickles to shore over shapeless banks. Salvation lies a few hours north or south or at the bar at the Ocean Beach Hotel. On the weekend however, Perth surfers scored their just desserts - the pay off for enduring the painful summer months. 

Matt Cooper was on hand to film the local lads letting loose their frustrations.
