The Gold Coast is a great place for a short getaway; packed as it is with highrise hotels and cheap nightclubs. Time the getaway with a great swell and you're on a winner. But when the getaway is a bucks weekend you're not doing quite so well.

Swellnet head cheese, Ben Matson, had just such a situation last weekend - a highrise hotel, a bucks weekend, and a bucketload of swell.

Here's the view of the Superbank from the 23rd floor on Sunday morning. Apparently the fuzzy images are due to a faulty camera...
