COOLANGATTA, Australia (Monday, Feb. 26, 2007) – Local
Indigenous surfer Dale Richards (Coolangatta) today won the Quiksilver Pro Trials
and takes a wild card into the Fosters World Tour Quiksilver Pro which begins
tomorrow on the Gold Coast. Richards will face three time world champion Andy
Irons in his round one heat. 
Richards defeated the current World Junior Champion Jordy
Smith (South Africa) to take the win today. With
three minutes remaining in today’s final Richards was trailing in fourth
place in the four man trials final when he scored a strong 7.3 ride to take the
win.
