(Sunday 18th February: Gold Coast): Cronullas Andrew
Lester was in unbeatable form today at Surfers Paradise to win the Pro Mens
division of the Harbourtown Digital Mobile Pro presented by Unknown.
In
trashy but solid 1.5 metre waves, Lester put on a display of precision bodyboarding
that left the crowd in awe and the opposition in his wake. A
perfect score in the last ten minutes sealed victory for Lester ahead of Ryan
Hardy (Gold Coast) Ben Gohl (Sunshine Coast) and Sasha Specker (South Africa).
The
5A Bodyboarding Australasia (BBA) event rounded off a perfect start to the 07
Human Pro Bodyboard Tour and attracted competitors from throughout Australia and
as far a field as South Africa and Japan.
Its
been a long time since I have won a National Tour event said Lester. I
plan on doing a lot of the Human Pro Tour this year and to win against such a
strong field was a bonus. Lester now leads the Tour
after a strong showing in both the Flowrider and Harbourtown
events.
In
the Pro Womens division Lilly Pollard (Central Coast) managed to get past an inform
Kira Llewellyn (Gold Coast) with Emma Cobb (South Coast NSW) and Nicole Flemming
(Tasmania). I always have close heats against Kira, so
Im stoked to win this one said Lilly. Pollard is
the 2006 Womens Pro Tour Champion. In the Dropknee division,
the absence of title defender Mason Rose (Port Macquarie) left the door wide open
for South African Sasha Specker to take the money ahead of Justin Welsh (VIC),
Yuki Yamata from Japan and Glen Sullivan (NSW). Its
been great competing over here against all the Aussies and Im stoked to
do so well in both the Flowrider & the Harbourtown Pro, said Specker. The
Human Pro Tour now sails across the Tasman to the shores of New Zealands
North Island to the holiday hamlet of Piha for the HUMAN NZ Arato Pro
followed by the 4play Pro in Newcastle during Apri. For more information,
